Anita Marie Weathers

Anita Marie Weathers was born Saturday May 11, 1957, to the union of the late Johnson Marcus and Edythe (Cofield) Weathers. She was the sixth child of eight children, and suffered a great loss when two of her siblings preceded her in death – John Marcus (brother) and Faye Delores Weathers (sister). She was educated in the Detroit Public School System in Detroit, Michigan. Anita was affectionately known as "Shula" by her loving and devoted mother, "Special Bond" by her eldest sister Earline and "Ne-Ne" by others. She was the proud mother of three daughters - her twins Aletha & Alfreda and her baby girl Aretha. Over the years she was also blessed with 4 grandchildren - Laneicia, Antwan, Aniyah and A'Shawn, all of whom she adored. She was truly a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who touched everyone's life. Anita was a woman full of life and loved her family dearly. Anita worked in various domestic industries for prominent hotels and restaurants chains. She was truly an amazing person, a woman with a bright smile and loving spirit. Moreover, Anita was truly blessed with a God fearing mother who taught her the way of the Lord. As a result, Anita and her siblings were brought to Christ where they learned to pray and seek God. Church was a "must do" in the Weathers and Williams family. On her journey she accepted Christ as her personal savior and had dual church memberships at Williams Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Searcy, Arkansas, under the leadership of Pastor Cedric & Lady Estellia Smith, and Harper Avenue C.O.G.I.C. in Detroit, Michigan, under the leadership of Superintendent John & Mother Josephine Beverly. Anita fought the good fight of faith during her life's journey. She experienced many hardships and trials, and she never stopped loving. She continued to possess a gift of "A GIANT" through love and kindness. She was not a victim of life's circumstances, but a champion of her very own existence. On, Sunday, October 28, 2012, surrounded by her family, Ms. Anita Marie Weathers made her transition from this life to be in the presence of the Lord. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving & devoted mother - Mother Edythe Williams of Westpoint, Arkansas; her three children: District Missionary Aletha Weathers of Westpoint, Arkansas; Missionary Alfreda Weathers and Aretha Weathers of Detroit, Michigan; four grandchildren: Laneicia Marie Cannon, Antwan Davon Carter, Aniyah Rena Loyd and A'Shawn Duane Weathers; five sisters: Earlene Lawrence of Hamtramck, Michigan; Marcia Sumpter of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; Mother Patricia Johnson and Sandra Williams of Detroit, Michigan; Terri (Dwayne) Cannon of Searcy, Arkansas; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and the entire Williams Temple C.O.G.I.C. and Harper Avenue C.O.G.I.C. Church Families. .
