Dolores Hoofman King

Dolores Hoofman King, 97, of Searcy, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025. A devoted wife, loving aunt, and cherished member of her community, Dolores lived a long and meaningful life rooted in faith, kindness, and an open heart for others. Born on May 28, 1928, Dolores spent most of her life in Bald Knob, Arkansas, before later settling in Searcy. In 1948, she married the love of her life, Commodore Walter “Kinky” King Jr. Their marriage was a beautiful example of enduring love and partnership that spanned 63 years until his passing. Though they never had children of their own, their hearts and home were always open. Dolores loved children deeply and spent many years teaching Sunday school, sharing her joy, compassion, and unwavering faith in Christ with everyone she met. Known for her warmth and hospitality, Dolores truly never met a stranger. Her gentle spirit, bright smile, and giving nature left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She had a remarkable way of making people feel like family. Many who were not related by blood still considered her a grandmother, aunt, or second mother — a testament to the love she gave so freely and generously. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, CW “Kinky” King Jr.; her parents, Bernest Hoofman and Flora Belle Stevens Hoofman; her brother, Dennis Hoofman; and her sisters, Ellatrue “Trudy” Hoofman Langley, Floella Hoofman Ferren, and Frances Hoofman Clay. Dolores leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and generosity that will continue to shine through all those she touched. She will be missed more than words can express, but we rejoice knowing she is now reunited with her loved ones and resting in the presence of the Lord she served so faithfully. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 1:00pm. Interment will take place in Shady Grove Cemetery in Bald Knob.
