Jerry Lynn Shaw

Jerry Lynn Shaw, 82, of Bradford, Arkansas departed this life on March 14, 2025 at Unity Health in Searcy, Arkansas surrounded by his loved ones. He was born April 29, 1942 in Newport, Arkansas to the late Lawrence and Mary Jo Shaw. Jerry was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. He lived his life in a way that honored his savior and brought the word of God to all those that he met. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He enjoyed the time that was spent with his family. For many years, Jerry worked for Union Pacific Railroad alongside his best friends. After leaving the railroad, he raised cattle and quail. Being an avid outdoors man, Jerry spent a lot of time hunting when he was able and later enjoyed watching nature from his porch. He taught his children and grandchildren the value of family, the beauty in outdoors, and most importantly the love of God. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and all those that knew him. Left to cherish Jerry’s memory is his wife of almost 64 years, Bonnie Jean Shaw of the home, his son, Tim Shaw (Erica) of Searcy, AR, his daughter, Teresa Treece (Jim) of Beebe, AR, his granddaughter, Rachel Byrd (Dylan) of Cabot, AR, his grandson, Chase Gaines (Taylor) of Searcy, AR, three brothers, Larry Shaw (Cheryl) of Rosie, AR, Bill Shaw of Union Hill, AR, Dennis Shaw (Cindy) of Searcy, AR, five sisters, Mary Lee Looney (Troy Lee) of Oil Trough, AR, Brenda Palmer (Alvin) of Cabot, AR, Lacreta Money (Wendell Wallace) of Batesville, AR, Connie Starr (Randall) of Roise, AR, and Joyce Shaw of Batesville, AR. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Shaw and Mary Jo Shaw of Union Hill, AR. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Union Hill, Arkansas with Brother Don Robinson and Brother Jerry Chandler officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob, Arkansas. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery located behind the church. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Bobby Hart, Ben Hickman, Peyton Taylor, Kimmey Looney, Kevin Shaw, and Jeff Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Bain, Charles Grisham, and Galen Bryant.
