Joshua James Russenberger

Joshua "Josh" Russenberger, 49, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family and friends. While our hearts are broken by his loss, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace and celebrating in the presence of the Lord. Josh was the kind of person who never met a stranger. His infectious smile, quick wit, and generous heart drew people to him wherever he went. The countless friendships he built throughout his life are a testament to the man he was and the impact he had on those around him. Josh loved spending time on the river, where he felt most at home. Whether he was relaxing by the water, playing softball, tossing bags in a cornhole game, or simply enjoying time with family and friends, he embraced life and made every gathering more fun. He had a gift for bringing people together and creating memories that will be treasured forever. Above all else, Josh loved his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud stepfather, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. His love, laughter, and unwavering presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Josh was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Russenberger. He is survived by his loving wife, Savannah Russenberger; his cherished stepson, Jaicen Castro; his mother, Jerrie Russenberger; his sister, Theresa Mabray and husband Mike; his brother, Abe Russenberger; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Daniel Montgomery, Bethany Russenberger, Dustin Russenberger, Paul Mabray, Hunter Mabray, and Bella Mabray. Josh leaves behind countless friends who became family over the years. The outpouring of love and support shown throughout his journey is a reflection of the many lives he touched. Though he is no longer with us physically, his laughter, kindness, and love will remain in our hearts forever. The family asks that those who knew and loved Josh honor his memory by spending time with those they love, sharing a laugh with friends, enjoying the beauty of the river, and living life with the same joy and generosity that Josh shared so freely. The family and Patterson First Baptist Church will be hosting a Memorial Service celebrating Joshua's life on Saturday, June 20, 2026 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Woodruff County
