Judith Hendrick Reynolds Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother Judith Hendrick Reynolds, 82, passed away on October 24, 2023. She departed peacefully as she was surrounded by members of her devoted family. Judy was born on August 16, 1941 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Harry Clifton Hendrick and Jessie Risinger Hendrick. She graduated from Fair Park High School then continued her education at Harding University later receiving her Masters Degree from Northwestern State University. Upon her graduation from Harding, Judy returned to her alma mater, Fair Park, where she would teach for the next 33 years. At Fair Park, she served in the role of supervising business students through the COE (Cooperative Office Education) program where she positively impacted thousands of young adults throughout the years. She was the long-time sponsor of the school’s yearbook, The Sequoia. It brought Judy so much joy when she would run into students and learn of their success and how much they appreciated her tutelage and influence on their lives. Judy is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, James Reginald Reynolds. She is also survived by three wonderful, accomplished children they raised together: Grant Reynolds (Cindy), Gretchen Metheny (Glen), and Gentry Collier (Winston). Surviving grandchildren include Libby Kelly (John), Griffin Metheny (Maddie), Gracie Jobe (Derek), John David Reynolds, Vivi Tomlinson, Gabby Metheny, Corinne Tomlinson, Win Collier, Mary Motley Collier, and Raines Collier. She also survived by her sister and best friend, Jan Huffman (Joe) and special nieces, Julie Pitcher and Joy Shadrix. Each of them will cherish the memory of Judy and the role she played in their lives: wife, Mom, sister, Grandmommy, Juby, and Aunt Judy. After Reggie and Judy were both retired in 2001, they fulfilled a dream of returning to their beloved Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. In Searcy, Judy and Reggie delighted in attending the sporting events of their grandchildren, reconnecting with old friends, and enjoying this new chapter of life together. While in Shreveport, Judy attended Southern Hills Church of Christ where she served in the education department while also teaching Sunday school. She especially treasured her work with the Hospitality Committee as they celebrated the milestones of the church members. After their move to Searcy, she attended College Church of Christ where she took great pride in running the Welcome Center along with Reggie. She also had an active role in her Life Group. Judy took an annual trip with a special group of her girl friends including her sister, Jan Huffman, Jerry Hampton, Mary Beth Touchstone, Loretta Heard, Linda Brewer, Janet Fielder, Janie Shipman, Jo Shackleford, Karen Byrd, and Tina Duke. The memories they made with each other will live on in each of their hearts. Judy lived her life in service to others. She served her students, she served God and the church, and she especially served her family. Judy loved to entertain, particularly during the holidays. She was an excellent cook who was willing to teach others how to make her special dishes. She took great pleasure in gardening and working in the yard. The family will have a private graveside service at Forest Park West on Friday, October 27th at 11:00.
