Larry L. Pierce, a devoted husband, father, veteran, and friend, passed away on February 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength, service, and unwavering love for his family. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lorene and Ralph Pierce; his brothers, Jerry Pierce and Eddie Bullard; and his beloved granddaughter, Gabrielle Lorene McDaniel. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Judy Pierce; his daughters, Krista McDaniel and Jessica Pierce; his son-in-law, Justin McDaniel; his grandson, Jasper Baldwin; his sister, Tina Drake Zimmerman; his brother-in-law, Matt Zimmerman; his niece, Lara Zimmerman; his nephew, Ryan Pierce; Brother, Harmon Bullard; Nieces & nephews, Michael Bentley, Marcus Bentley, Nicole Bentley, Corey Hazen, Callen Hazen, many great nieces and nephews and his beloved Border Collie, Sofie, who rarely left his side. Born in Wichita, Kansas, on February 23, 1953, Larry traveled and lived all across the country before retiring in Searcy, Arkansas. Larry proudly served his country as an Special Warfare Operator during the Vietnam War. His courage and dedication in service reflected the deep sense of responsibility and honor that guided his entire life. After his military service, he built a career as an environmental waste specialist (Landfill Larry) continuing his commitment to protecting and serving communities in a different but equally important way. He enjoyed classic cars, NASCAR, mechanical work, and most of all, being a grandfather. He was a devoted husband and loving father. To those who knew him, Larry was steady, dependable, and strong — the kind of man who showed love not just in words, but in actions. He worked hard, stood firm in his values, helped those around him, and carried himself with quiet determination. Whether in the in a helicopter, on the job, or at home with his family, Larry lived with purpose. His memory will live on in the lessons he taught, the stories he shared, and the love he gave. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all of his family, friends and neighbors. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests dog toys, balls, and treats for his beloved canine companion, Sofie, a tribute he surely appreciates looking down from above. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 2:00pm at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy. Visitation will be held prior, beginning at 1:00pm. A catered meal will follow services.
