Larry E. Turner

Larry Elmer Turner, 71, of Judsonia, Arkansas formally of Concord, Arkansas, died Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Unity Hospital in Searcy, Arkansas. Larry was born May 16, 1948 in Osceola, Arkansas to the late Leroy Turner and Dorthy Lee (Smith) Turner. He attended Missco School until the 10th grade where he played basketball and was very good. He grew up in West Ridge, Arkansas but traveled to a lot of different states for work. On February 3, 1968 Larry married the love of his life, Peggy Sue Money and soon starting their own family. Always working you could find him behind that big truck wheel. Larry loved being with family, watching NASCAR, sprint cars, watching those old western shows and listening to old country music; which he could name every actor, actress and singer that he saw or heard. He liked to go eat some good lobsters, crab legs and Mexican shrimp cocktails with any of his family. Larry is survived by his wife, Peggy Sue (Money) Turner; sons, Larry Russell, Rusty (Teresa) of Searcy; Stacey Houston (Sherry) of Judsonia and Scotty Lee (Tammie) of Benton; daughter, Cenda Lanell of Judsonia; adopted daughter, Samantha Hayes; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers, Wayne (Brenda) Turner of Concord, Roger (Kay) Turner of Pleasant Plains, Gary (Lori) Turner of Banner, Tommy (Melissa) Turner of Floral, Timmy (Kim) Turner of Malvern; 6 sisters, Liz (Bobby) Reeves of Floral, Joann Sample of Newport, Debbie (Aaron) Slisher of Batesville, Susie (Bud) Lewis of Clinton, Patsy Case of Tumbling Shoals and Brenda (Allen) Baker of Desha; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Dorthy Turner and a brother, Danny Turner. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 3 at Banner Faith Full Gospel Church in Banner (Concord). Interment will follow in the Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
