Lawrence Mcintire,

Lawrence Sylvester McIntire, Sr., 86, of Judsonia, went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2007 in Searcy, Arkansas. He was born in Griffithville June 2, 1921 to the late James Orville and Minnie Maybell Moore McIntire. He was a 1941 graduate of Searcy High School. He was a faithful member of the Judsonia United Methodist Church where he served as Treasurer and held many other offices throughout the years. He served as Mayor of Judsonia in 1995-1996 and served his country in the Army during WW II. Mr. McIntire was a 32nd Degree Mason and was the treasurer of the Judsonia Masonic Lodge and also a member of the Judson Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. He was a retired Boilermaker/Welder and had worked on nearly all the missile silos in Arkansas and was also involved in the construction of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Mo. He retired after the completion of the Nuclear I and Nuclear II projects in Russellville, Arkansas. Lawrence was a good, Christian man, loving husband, father, grandfather and a jack of all trades including; gardening, woodworking, welding, mechanics and numerous other things. He was preceded in death by his parents; James Orville and Minnie Maybell Moore McIntire and two brothers, George and James McIntire. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Geraldine McIntire of Judsonia; three children, Patricia Ewan and husband Dighton of Clarendon, Lawrence McIntire, Jr. and wife Kay of Judsonia and Annette Stapleton and husband James of Searcy; brother, Johnny McIntire and wife Dolly of Roland; sister, Ollie Modine Smith of Perryville; six grandchildren, Jim Ewan of Clarendon, Patrick Ewan and wife Deshon of Collierville, Tn., Laurie Evans and husband Wesley of Olathe, Ks., Lynne Jetton and husband Keith of Little Rock, Kelly Baugher and husband Galon of Little Rock and Kaley Stapleton of Searcy; nine great-grandchildren, Stone and Grey Ewan, Lawson McIntire, Jessica and Cassidy and Sylvia Jetton, Aubrey and Olivia Evans and Ezra Baugher and a multitude of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be on Friday, June 22, 2007 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2007 at the Judsonia First United Methodist Church with entombment following at White County Memorial Gardens.
