Leah Marie (Boyce) Jones It is with joy, peace and a few tears that we announce our precious mother, beloved Meme and cherished Aunt Leah, friend to all and stranger to no one, has made her grand entrance into Heaven. Leah Marie Boyce graced this world with her presence on November 22, 1966 in Chula Vista, California to her ever-so-patient parents, Eugene Leon Boyce and Janie Louise (Parsley) Boyce, who quickly learned of Leah’s vibrant, stubborn and loving personality! After living her life earthside, stubbornly, lovingly and passionately, she has entered into Heaven on her own two feet, on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at ONLY 29 years old – or young….. (we know the math doesn’t math!) Leah married her soul mate and best friend, Ronnie Jones on November 4, 1996. The two leading, guiding and loving their four children – Ashley (Jeff) Gist, Natasha Jones, Westley (Abby) Boon and Kaci (Lance) Carroll; 14 special grandchildren, Kaylin, Ashlynn, Madi, Rylan, Cameron, Alivia, Reese, Clemy, Paicyn, Allicyn, Emersyn, Sydney, Jacob and Linda plus 1 extra special great-grandchild, Deklen, carrying the greatest privilege and honor to call her Meme; and she was the BEST Meme! Those who have had the opportunity to walk beside Leah, and have a front row seat to her crazy antics since the day she came kicking into this world are her four siblings, Tammy (John) Melton, Rocky (Leah) Boyce, Dallas (Diane) Boyce and Jesse (Terri) Boyce. The stories they have told of tales of a daring daughter, their scheming sister, are now their most cherished memories to hold and laugh over for the rest of forever. A title that a few hold proudly by birthright, and even more get to hold for knowing and loving her as “Aunt Leah.” Aunt Leah had the best ideas, that may or may not have gotten a few into a little trouble over the years. Aunt Leah was the funnest, funniest, craziest crazy aunt anyone could wish for! She carried this title proudly, ensuring each niece and nephew had special moments and memories to last a lifetime. These words we write would not be enough if we didn’t mention how Meme was not just a Meme to those 16 precious grandbabies, but a Meme to any child she met – and probably even some she hasn’t met yet. To mention that she was Aunt Leah to all her amazing nieces and nephews, AND to anyone who needed an aunt in their corner, Aunt Leah passionately stood tall (well, as tall as she could) to fill the void and to share her love. Meme’s (Aunt Leah’s) family came above all, and “family” included everyone she cared about! She held a special place in her heart to selflessly and passionately serve in her church – Searcy Church of God… whether it was decorating for any (and every) event she could, being Meme to anyone who walked in the door, standing by to taste test Ronnie’s amazing cooking and then serving it to those she loved, praying fiercely for any friend and neighbor and anyone who needed it and telling everyone about her Jesus, and how one day she would be standing before Him – and that they could too! Leah was never one to back down from a challenge or an adventure. Her stubbornness was legendary, a “no” was a definite “yes,” driving her to achieve the impossible and inspiring others around her to do the same. She was the mastermind behind countless crazy antics and always the first to bring laughter and light to any situation. Her love was a powerful force, felt deeply by her family and friends. She loved with every fiber of her being, creating a legacy of warmth, compassion and unforgettable memories. Her passion for life was evident in everything she did, from her selfless acts of service to the way she fiercely protected and cared for her loved ones. Though we miss her dearly, we take comfort in the knowledge that her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to be touched by her love and laughter. Knowing mom is running, skipping and doing cart wheels in Heaven, brings us peace. We know she is even organizing a Heavenly bash right now so big, so loud, so fun and so crazy, that all the Disciples, Mary and Joseph, Adam and Eve and Jesus Himself will be talking about it for all eternity! A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Searcy Church of God.
