Lesley Cardin Higginbotham

Lesley Cardin Higginbotham of Searcy, Arkansas passed from this life to her heavenly home after an extended illness surrounded by her family on February 11, 2023. She was born on April 26, 1983, the daughter of Steven F. Minner and Roberta L. Burkindine. She is survived by her husband Joshua Shane Higginbotham of 20 years and her children Caden Shane, Carver Joshua, and Olivia Cardin Higginbotham of Searcy. Also surviving Lesley are her parents, Steven F. Minner (Katie) of Bismarck, AR, and Roberta L. Burkindine (Don) of Springfield, MO. She is also survived by her brothers, Yates Minner (Becca) of The Woodlands, TX, and Hawkins Minner of Searcy, Madeline Barber, Byron Higginbotham (Kay), Stephanie Bruce (Crys) and Wayne Higginbotham of Searcy, Nephews and Nieces: Chastin Reed and Channing Williams of Searcy, Makaiya and Maysie Minner of Kensett, Beckham, Boston, Lila and Nolan Zayn Minner of Searcy, Garret and Analiese Minner of The Woodlands, TX. Lesley was also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that all loved her. Lesley was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandparents, Velma Brewer and Russell Lund as well as Paternal Grandparents Wilson Franklin Minner Jr. and Betty Ann Hawkins Minner When Josh met Lesley on their first day of 7th grade carrying a bright yellow backpack, he made a promise to himself that he would spend the rest of his life with her. He got his wish and they became childhood sweethearts, and later she became his devoted wife, and loving mother to their 3 children. Lesley's life was focused on being a wife to Josh and mother to Caden, Carver, and Livi. She took great pride in these roles, always putting her family first. When asked what Lesley's job was, Josh was quick to say that she was a Mom. Josh took pride in her wanting to be a full time mom, which often took sacrifices by the whole family. Lesley spent her days and nights meeting the needs of her family while lately working side by side with Josh helping to grow and maintain the family business. Lesley always supported and participated in her children's activities sometimes managing multiple activities at once. In addition to her family, Lesley was always the mom available to help her children's friends in anyway, whether it be providing transportation, meals, or an open door to their home. One of Lesley's favorite activities, was enjoying time in the sun. As a family, they spent many hours on the beach making memories that will last a lifetime. When asked to describe a perfect day for their family, Josh quickly stated "any day that they were all together at home just hanging out." A perfect piece to the puzzle will forever be missed. Lesley's love of animals led her to be known as the "animal whisperer". Stray animals as well as neighboring animals could always find the garage door open and a bowl of food and water waiting. She enjoyed making sure all animals both big and small were cared for. In Lieu of Flowers, we ask friends to donate to Lesley's favorite charity barnsanctuary.org or your favorite charity. Per Lesley's request, please dress casual and come help honor her life. Services and Cremation are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by Brother Bill Lyons and Brother Bill Baldridge. Services are February 16, 2023, at Powell Funeral Home Visitation is 4-5pm and Service will be held at 5pm. Josh would like to thank the caregivers: Elite Hospice, his Aunt Teresa Treat, and mother, Kay Higginbotham for their loving care of Lesley.
