Linda Jean (Hinson) King

Linda Jean (Hinson) King went to her Heavenly home to be with Jesus on October 10, 2023, at the age of 75. Linda was born to the late Lyman and Estelle (Hughes) Hinson on December 16, 1947, in Searcy, Arkansas. Linda married the love of her life Winston Howard King on January 13, 1968, and they shared over 50 wonderful years of marriage until his passing last year. They were blessed with their daughter Kelly Jean and later with their 4 grandchildren who they loved and supported fiercely. Becoming Nonna was her favorite title she ever held, and she was the best at it. In addition to being a dedicated christian and loving wife, mother and Nonna, Linda also loved cooking, gardening, tending to her yard of beautiful flowers and working around their cattle farm. She had a 36-year career at Speed queen later known as Maytag where she retired from in 2004 to spend more time with her Grandchildren but she would always talk about the friends she had made from all those years. Throughout Linda’s entire life, she held an unwavering, and undeniable faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She was the absolute epitome of strength, kindness and unconditional love. She was the prime example of Proverbs 31. Though she faced various trials throughout her life on earth, she never once wavered in her faith and never failed to care for those she loved. She was truly a one-of-a-kind woman that will be so missed, but we are comforted knowing she is no longer suffering and is finally united with her loved ones. We are sure Pa embraced her at the heaven’s gates saying, “you took long enough Linda Jean”. We know they are together again; her daily prayer was answered. Linda joyfully joins her husband Winston, her parents Lyman and Estelle, her beloved sister Sharon and two angel grand babies along with a host of other family and friends in heaven. She is survived by her daughter Kelly Berry (Michael), four grandchildren Jasmine Holden (Trae), Katelyn, Kamryn, and Jacob Baughman and many other loving family and friends. Linda Jean will be forever missed but we have peace in knowing she is in heaven where she longed to be, and we will see her again someday. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm, at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at 3:00pm at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Roosevelt Cemetery.
