LouAnn McNeely

LouAnn McNeely, age 70, of Pumpkin Bend, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on September 1, 2024 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family, after her courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 2, 1954 in Wynne, Arkansas to the late Leo McNeely Sr. and Winne Lee Dickerson McNeely. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, one brother, Leo McNeely Jr., and two sisters, Juanita Planchon and Patty Nelson. Left to cherish her memory are her two sisters, Oneida Williams of McCrory, Arkansas and Joyce James of England, Arkansas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews, as well as her dog and companion, Gypsy. LouAnn was a 1972 graduate of McCrory High School. She was employed at American Greetings until they closed the McCrory factory in 2003. She then went to work at Land of Frost in Searcy, Arkansas until her retirement in 2020. She was a member of the Morton Baptist Church. LouAnn, better known as Aunt Lou, Lou Lou, or Lou enjoyed fishing, mowing, and working in her yard. She loved watching the hummingbirds and playing horseshoes and cornhole. LouAnn also enjoyed spending quality time with her family and her dog, Gypsy. She was an avid sports fan who loved her Jaguars, Arkansas Razorbacks, and Green Bay Packers. She always looked forward to the day after Thanksgiving to watch the Razorback football game with her nieces and nephews and then play dominos. LouAnn was loved by many and will be missed deeply by her loved ones until they meet again. Funeral services honoring her life will be conducted on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Morton Baptist Church in Morton, Arkansas with Brother Greg Dewitt officiating. Visitation will be held prior to services beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Pumpkin Bend Cemetery in Pumpkin Bend, Arkansas. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Andy Wallis, Tracy Warner, Travis Warner, Thomas Kendrick, Wayne Jackson, and Brandon Walker. Honorary pallbearers are James Nelson, Debra and Rusty Beshears, Michelle Wallis, Shelia Jackson, Melica Kendrick, Breanna Walker, Brayden Walker, Bracin Walker, Brylee Walker, Brooke Bolden, Myla Bolden, Kandance Williams, and Stephen Warner. The family would love to thank the Morton Baptist Church for everything they have done for their family during this time of grieving. They would also like to express their appreciation for the phone calls, visits, food that has been brought, and many other acts of kindness from their community. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Morton Baptist Church, (P.O. Box 727, McCrory, Arkansas 72101) or to The American Cancer Society, (2222 Cottondale LN Ste 310, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202) in remembrance of LouAnn McNeely. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Woodruff County.
