Marvin Wallace Wilson

Marvin Wilson, 73 of Searcy, AR was born on June 24, 1947 in Memphis, TN to his parents, Woodrow Wilson and Magdalene Benson. He departed this Earth on July 22, 2020 at Unity Health Medical Center in Searcy, AR. Marvin grew up in Osceola, AR where he met his late wife of 44 years and mother of his children, Billie E. Wilson. Together they raised their three children and his younger brother, Stevie. Marvin and Billie took guardianship of his brother after the death of their mother. Spending time with his family and grandkids were his most cherished moments. He was a hard worker and provider for his family. He was a role model for all of his children and grandchildren; always a stern, but loving demeanor to him. He was an avid believer in the lord and will be rejoicing in heaven with his past loved ones and late wife, Billie. After losing his wife, Billie “Mamaw”, he met Gail. After both having lost each of their spouses, they were a perfect fit. They loved each other dearly and shared the same wants and desires. They made many memories in their 10 + years together. They lived, laughed, and loved life together. They were joined in marriage on July 31, 2010. With their marriage, he gained a daughter, Tanya, of whom he loved as his own. Left to cherish the memories of our “Papaw” are his grandchildren; Jason, Chelsea, Ericka, Travis, Savannah, Michael Jr., Brittany, Drew, Connor, Cindel, Josh, Dusty, Olivia, Haley, Skylar, Xander, Farrah, Sena, and Gage; twenty-four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife Gail; his children, Elvie (Dewayne) McVay, Melissa (Ferrell) Payne, Michael (Tiffany) Wilson Sr., and Tanya (James) Waters; two sisters, Sally Sheldon and Janice (Jenny) Barker; and brothers, James Wilson, Steven (Stevie) Berry, and Everett Wilson. He is preceded in death by his parents, a wife, Billie E. Wilson, and a brother, Willie George Wilson. Due to COVID-19 mandates mask are required and social distancing guidelines will be observed. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25 at the Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob with services to begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Providence Cemetery.
