MaryAnn Helen St. Amant

MaryAnn Helen (Ruelle) Hooker St. Amant, 90, of Olive Branch, MS passed from this life on Sunday, July 14th, 2019. She was born January 10th, 1929 in River Rouge, MI daughter of the late William and Isabella Ruelle. MaryAnn and her late husband Donald St. Amant moved from Michigan to Heber Springs, AR where she lived for 36 years before moving to Olive Branch, MS. MaryAnn was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother and wife. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family and home. She was a great cook and loved to feed her family and friends. If you came to her house you were never going to leave hungry. She just wouldn’t allow it. MaryAnn loved dancing to big band music, playing bingo and pinochle. Widowed twice to two World War II veterans she was a member of the VFW Post 3543, American Legion SQDN #0064 and served on the ladies auxiliary. MaryAnn had a lifelong strong faith in God. She is survived by two sons Michael (Sheryl) Hooker and Thomas (Jennifer) Hooker; three daughters Jeannine (Stan) Lincoln, Donna (Tracy) Orpin and Lori (Don) Fortner; two stepsons Don (Crystal) St. Amant and David (Eve) St. Amant; three stepdaughters Marlene Mott, Kathryn (Richard) Coppens, Nancy (Shawn) Roof; one brother David Ruelle; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; eighteen step grandchildren; fourteen step great grandchildren and one step great great grandchild. Proceeded in death by husband Gerald William Hooker of 25 years and Donald Felix St. Amant of 25 years; one daughter Susanne Hooker; two sisters Catherine Lozon and Dorothy Behrendt; two brothers Russell Ruelle and William Ruelle III and one stepson Daniel St. Amant. Visitation is Friday, July 19th 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy, AR. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 20th 2019 at 2pm at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Searcy, AR with the Reverend Neil Vanderbush officiating. Interment will follow at the Cleburne County Memorial Gardens in Heber Springs, AR. Pallbearers will be Michael Hooker, Thomas Hooker, Brian Lincoln, Justin Redd, Don Fortner, Tracy Orpin and honorary Stan Lincoln.
