Norma Harmon

Norma B. Harmon (Robertson), 87, of Bradford, Arkansas, passed peacefully through the night on January 7, 2026, and went home to be with the Lord. Norma was born in Newport, Arkansas, to Orville and Lona Robertson. From the beginning, her life was rooted in family, faith, and steady love—values she carried with her throughout her years. While Dean was serving in the war, Norma began writing him letters, and through those words—shared across the miles—their love quietly took root and grew into a lifelong bond. What started on paper became a marriage grounded in friendship, trust, and unwavering commitment. Norma lived a life of service and connection. She was deeply involved in the family businesses, including Harmon’s Market Grocery Store, Harmon’s Monuments, and, later, M&M Sandblasting, where she worked alongside her daughter, Michele. Her strong work ethic and care for others were evident in all she did. She was an active member of Possum Grape Church of Christ, where her faith was lived out quietly and consistently. Sundays spent with her church family were a cherished part of her life. She also found great joy in community and friendship. Norma spent time at the Bradford Senior Center, shared a special friendship with Betty Summers, and enjoyed weekly domino games with her church lady friends—gatherings filled with laughter, companionship, and love. She especially enjoyed trips to Mountain View, creating memories alongside those she held dear. Norma loved antiquing on Saturdays with family, siblings, and friends and cherished time spent with her brothers and sister and their children and grandchildren. Family meant everything to her, and she took great pride in each generation that followed. She also loved working in her flowers, caring for them as if they were her own, and spent many peaceful hours raking leaves so they would never cover them. In her free time, she enjoyed walking from her house to Steve’s and Michele’s—getting outside, visiting, and making sure she knew what was planned for dinner. She also greatly enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and completing crossword puzzles, finding both joy and comfort in the quiet moments they provided—simple pleasures that reflected her thoughtful and steady nature. She was preceded in death by her husband Dean Harmon, her parents Orville and Lona Robertson, and other loved ones who welcomed her home. Norma is survived by her children: Terry and Danny Turner, Rhonda and Rick Thomason, Steve Harmon, and Michele and Troy Smith; her grandchildren: Kristin Southerland, Jordan Tenison, Amanda Rouse, Eric Jackson, Wade Jackson, Greg Jones, Paiton Harmon, Kasey Harmon, Candace Reed, Marissa Jones, Tyler Smith, Justin Smith, and Ashley Smith; along with many great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends who will continue to carry her love, faith, and example forward. A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Powell Funeral Home in Bradford, Arkansas, beginning at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Coffeyville Cemetery in Bradford.
