Genevieve Osborne Davis

Genevieve Osborne Davis, 93, of Searcy, departed this life surrounded by family, and went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 6, 2013. She was born December 9, 1919 in Searcy, the daughter of Earnest James and Alma Sally Miller Osborne. Ms. Genevieve is survived by two daughters, Peggy Davis Herrin of Searcy and Marion Davis Craig (Mike) of Beebe; three brothers, Paul Lee Osborne of Lincoln, Illinois, Jim Osborne (Donna) of Searcy, and Kenneth Osborne of Searcy; a sister, Linda Holmes of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren, Lenee Herrin Brown (David) of Alexander, Gregory Herrin (Connie) of Romance, Davis Mills (Bridget) of Searcy, and Dustin Mills (VaLynn) of Beebe; two step-grandchildren, Nikki Craig Daveluy (Jim) and Kelsey Craig; seven great-grandchildren, Camille Brown Stout (Rob) of Beebe, Nicholas Brown of Alexander, Hope Herrin of Searcy, Bailey Virginia Mills of Searcy, Will Mills of Searcy, and Hackler and Hannidy Mills of Beebe; three step-great grandchildren, Wyatt, Lucas and Clinton Daveluy; two great-great-grandchildren, Emmie Bella Stout of Beebe and James Colton Herrin of Searcy; and also by several nieces and nephews whom she loved and prayed for daily. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Collet M. Davis; a sister, Pat Gentry; and two twin great-great-grandchildren, Holland and Hagen Mills. Ms. Genevieve was a homemaker who put her family first. She was a modest, humble lady always spoke kindly of everyone. She was known as an example of a godly, Christian woman. Her life was her testimony. She was a charter member of the First Assembly of God Church of Searcy. She loved her Lord, her church, her family, and her friends. She was also an eight year volunteer at the White County Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to either the American Cancer Society, or to her church, the Searcy First Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Searcy. Brother Vernon Ables and Brother Jason Sheel will officiate.
