Rachel Anna Butts

Rachel Anna (Hart) Butts of Bradford, Arkansas, was born on September 4, 1953, in Fair Oaks, Arkansas to the late Lawrence Cleon Hart and Nancy Jane (Holley) Hart. Rachel left her earthly body and gained her heavenly angel wings on March 19, 2026, at the age of 72 with her daughters by her side at home. Rachel was preceded in death by her loving companion, Brooks Sullivan; her parents; her paternal grandparents, Grover Cleveland Hart and Lillie Mae (Oberley) Hart; her maternal grandparents, James Marion Holley and Elizabeth Lucienda (Foreman) Holley; her daughter, Susan Anne Ben and her son, Patrick Clayton Sullivan; her two brothers, Grover James Hart and Lawrence Cleon Hart, Jr; her two sisters, Willie Mae Pantel and Betty Jane Skinner and her beloved dog of many years, Ratdog. Rachel is survived by her two daughters, Karla (Michael) Powell of Bradford, Arkansas and Debra (Barron Clemons) Clark of Newport, Arkansas; one son, Casey (Kalee) Sullivan of Star City, Arkansas. She is survived by seven grandchildren - Rachel Caraway, Meghan Pearson, Tyler Moldan, Bobby Moldan, Jakob Moldan, Alex Moldan and MacKenzie Sullivan; six great grandchildren, Sarah Turner, Emily Dunn, Braidyn Powell, CJ Pearson, Dakota Pearson and Colton Gaspard and one great-great grandchild Hudson Maddox Turner; two great friends Tim and Nancy Hardy and her very special loyal fur baby, Maximus. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other family. Before Mom became ill, she enjoyed traveling the roads with Brooks and Max by her side to visit family and enjoy the scenery. She loved to spend the days fishing and searching for arrowheads. She was always on board for a good cook out with loved ones. When her granddaughters, Rachel and Megan would come down for visits during the summertime when they were children. Oh, the stories they could tell. Her grandsons, Tyler, Bobby, Jakob and Alex were always there when she needed them or to just hang out. Her great grandchildren kept her young at heart; she was honored to be their Nana. She always had a smile on her face. Her family was her ray of sunshine; now she will be our ray of sunshine shining down. In the last years when Mom's health began to decline, she absolutely loved riding by car or around on the side by side to enjoy nature's beauty along with Maximus, her loyal protector to the end. Mom and Brooks had two close friends, Tim and Nancy Hardy, that they enjoyed spending time with as well. A special thank you from the family goes to Lucienda Skinner and Daniel (Mandy) Skinner for being there for mom. She loved you dearly. There is no love like the love you get from your Mom and we most definitely had this with our Mom. We are going to miss you and we will see you again one day. Services will be at Powell Funeral Home of Bradford on Friday, March 27, 2026. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Funeral will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Don Jones officiating. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Johnny Tims, Marty Caraway, Daniel Skinner, Daniel Murphy, Alvin Pritchard and Michael Zeyloth. Interment will follow at Pumpkin Bend Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Bradford.
