Ray Dean Douglas

Ray Dean Douglas, age 84 of Judsonia, AR went to his heavenly home on Monday September 30, 2024, at his home surrounded by his wife and family. He was born on February 29, 1940, in Judsonia, AR to the late Ray Douglas and Nadine Baker Douglas. Ray Dean was a member of Judsonia Church of Christ. He loved his church family and took advantage of every opportunity to attend services. He was a licensed contractor by trade for more than 40 years and built many homes in and around White County. Ray Dean was a US Army Veteran where he served active duty in Germany during the Vietnam War. Ray Dean loved spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He particularly loved Christmas as it was the one time of the year that all his family could be together. He enjoyed all types of car racing including dirt track racing and spent many Friday nights at Beebe Speedway. Anyone who knew him knew was an avid Nascar fan and he attended many races. He loved to travel extensively and went on many cruises and visited 48 states as well as many countries. Ray Dean is survived by his wife of almost 46 years Martha Lasater Douglas, children Ray Dean (Sheila) Douglas Jr., Heath Douglas and Annette Douglas all of Judsonia, James Bunch of Mountain Home, Tiffany (Aaron) Rowlan and Lanie Bunch of Bald Knob. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and siblings Lynda (Richard) Miller and Rickey (Rhonda) Douglas as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, other family and his beloved dog Tanner. Ray Dean was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Larry Douglas, Loretta Douglas, Bobby Douglas, Kenneth Douglas, Dennis Douglas, Randy Douglas and Kathy Jernigan. The family would like to extend a huge thank you to Elite Hospice for the excellent care and assistance given to the family during a most difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paragould Children’s Homes or the National Kidney Foundation. Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob, Arkansas with Brother Matt Clifton officiating. Visitation will be held prior to services from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob - Judsonia.
