Robyn (McCall) Atkinson

Robyn Rene (McCall) Atkinson peacefully entered her heavenly home, February 23, 2023, at her residence with her loving husband, daughter, and a sister by her side at the age of 67. Robyn was born in Detroit, Michigan, on September 24, 1955, the first child of the late Nathan and late Marilyn McCall. As an early teenager, she was moved with her family from the large metropolitan city of Detroit to the small rural community of Bradford, Arkansas, in 1970. Robyn thrived in the environment becoming a cheerleader for Bradford High School and being selected as the Homecoming Queen her senior year of 1973. She attended Harding University then moved to San Diego, California, and later South Carolina for a few years. Robyn eventually returned to Arkansas where she worked locally and raised her young family to be followers of Christ and active in a variety of activities. Robyn’s big goal after her children had been raised was buying and owning her own Ford F-150 pickup truck, a dream she did achieve. Robyn then became a grandparent with the birth of her first grandchild in 2000. This became a new mission for her which caused her to take up photography and she taught herself the finer points of the art. Rarely did an event occur without Robyn being nearby, camera in hand. In 2010, Robyn rekindled a relationship that had started in her teens when she met, again, Mark Atkinson. They married shortly thereafter. Robyn and Mark enjoyed everything together from a grandchild’s school event to a Razorback football game in Fayetteville, Arkansas. They also fulfilled one of Robyn’s bucket list items and that was seeing Elton John live in concert…they achieved that goal multiple times. Just last year, Robyn and Mark embarked upon a cross country trip to California to see family, visiting the Grand Canyon along the way. Robyn had a heart to serve, spending most of the last ten years of her life fulfilling a promise to her late father, Nathan. That promise was to take care of her mother, Robyn fulfilled that promise while at the same time making sure her family was attended to and loved. Robyn is survived by her husband, Mark Atkinson of Bradford, AR; her sons Dustin Boyce and his wife Paula of Bradford, AR and Nikolas Jordan and his wife Marlee of Ozark, Missouri; her daughter Mary Goad and her husband Jason of Bradford, AR; her stepson Joseph Anthony Atkinson and his wife Brandi of Bishop, CA; her brother Todd McCall and his wife Tina of Ward, AR; her sisters, Holly Wilkerson and her husband David of Sulphur Rock, AR, and Heather Cosby of Santa Fe, TX, and twelve grandchildren that were the light of her life (and a significant influence of the photography addiction), Bailey and Blayne Boyce, Emma, Elly, and Evan Goad all of Bradford, Kaya, Miya, Niko Jordan of Ozark, MO, and Saphire, Lillith, Cayaah, and Xaryanlyn Atkinson of Bishop, CA. The family will be receiving friends at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the Velvet Ridge Church of Christ. A Celebration of Life for Robyn will be held at 2:00PM on the same date and location.
