Royce Leland Beesley

Royce Leland Beesley passed from this life to his Heavenly Father on September 10, 2024. He was born March 22, 1952, to Wade and Juanita Beesley in Hugoton, Kansas. He grew up in a large family filled with love and happiness. He was previously married to Danece and together they raised six children. They had two children of their own, Tron Leland and Shawna Danea. The four stepchildren he loved and raised like his own are Danita, Kathy, Chuck, and Dale. Later Royce met the love of his life, Cathy Haigwood, who he had been happily married to for 14 years. Royce was a Christian who spent many years at Lakeside Baptist Church, where he was the Sunday School Director. Throughout his childhood, Royce and his family were a huge part of the Church of God in Hugoton, Kansas. He retired from Arkansas Steel Associates in Newport, Arkansas after 34 years. He was a hard worker and a good man, often called “Rawhide” by his team. Royce enjoyed traveling and taking vacations as well as camping and fishing. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and was one of their biggest fans. The activity he enjoyed most was square dancing, where he served as Arkansas State Square Dance Convention President, as well as the National Square Dance Association, being an Assistant General Chairman for the 63rd National Square Dance Convention in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife, Cathy (Haigwood) Beesley; children, Shawna (Danny) Worthington of Swifton, AR, Tron Leland (Valerie) Beesley of Brooklyn, AR , Danita, Kathy, and Chuck.; grandchildren, Laci and Dawson Worthington, Seth Hayden Beesley, Derick and Jasten Wilkerson, Shylah Davis, Darius Williams, Kennedie France, Ty Dixon, Cami, Bryce, Conner and Xiamara Stahly, Eli Needham; three brothers, Walter (Estelle) Beesley of Hugoton, KS, James (Cynthia) Beesley of Garden City, KS, Roger (Chely) Beesley of Hugoton, KS; sister, Peggy Ruth Rose of Texas; step-children, Marcus (Karen) Wilson, Perry (Stephanie) Wilson, Elizabeth (Karisa) Kyser; step-grandchildren, Daimyan (Trinity), Tyler Wilson, Alex (Jennifer) Wilson ,Brandon Wilson; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Royce was preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Juanita; his son, Roy Dale Gann. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice Home Care, especially Kaci and Jennifer. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Lakeside Missionary Baptist Church, 1108 Dill Street, Newport, AR. Due to allergies the family request artificial flowers. A Visitation will be held from 6pm-8pm on Friday, September 13, Funeral Service will be at 11am on Saturday, September 14 with Bro. Albert Mullins officiating, both being held at the Lakeside Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Eight Mile Cemetery in Beedeville, Arkansas.
