Ruby Virginia Brooks

Ruby Virginia Brooks, 92 years old of Bald Knob, went to meet Jesus on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at her home surrounded by her children. She was born January 6, 1932 in Marked Tree, Arkansas to the late Harvey Anderson Tims, Sr. and Ruby Richardson Tims. Virginia married the love of her life, James Wylie Brooks, on June 24, 1946; they spent 65 wonderful years together, until his passing on May 31, 2012. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Virginia spent her life raising her nine children, helping her husband run the family business and in later years, helping her husband pastor “Jesus is the Way” Church in Bald Knob. She loved fishing and working in her flower garden. Virginia will be remembered by family and friends for her faithful prayers and her devotion to God and family. Virginia was very proud of the “James and Virginia Brooks Education Scholarship Trust” that was established by their children after her husband’s passing in 2012. The trust is to benefit Bald Knob High School graduates with financial support for a higher education, for those who would not otherwise be able to further their education. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, sister, Ruth Jones Hicks and numerous nieces and nephews. Virginia is survived by her children, Dale (Kay) Brooks, Wayne (Donna) Brooks both of Bald Knob, Patricia Brooks Crocker of Dallas, Texas, Linda Jennings of Bentonville, Arkansas, Frances Miesen and Virginia (Erwin) Strayhorn both of Judsonia, Joe Brooks (Tammy Thacker) of Bald Knob, Danny (Vicki) Brooks of Searcy and J.W. (Janie) Brooks of Bald Knob. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren: Delores Brooks (Jeff Stanphill), Timothy Brooks, James Gifford, Katie (Fernando) Quiambao, Bryan (Billieann) Jennings, Jared Jennings, Justin Jennings, Melissa (Bobby) Lambert, Monica Miesen, Modesa (Patrick) Honey, Nathan (Tiffany) Strayhorn, Darren Strayhorn, Daniel (Megan) Brooks , Jessica (Christian) Bartholomew, 37 great grandchildren, and 24 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Wylie Brooks; sons-in-law, Garry Jennings, Radford Crocker and Delbert Miesen; grandsons, Joseph Kyle Brooks, Jimmy Dale Brooks and Delbert Jay Brooks; siblings, Harvey Tims, Jr., Roy Anderson Tims and Shirley Tims Morgan.
