Thelma Joyce Martin

Thelma Joyce Martin, 84 of Bald Knob, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. She passed from this life at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 8, 1939, in Truman Arkansas, a daughter of the late Vernon and Ruby (Phillips) Crain. Thelma was a charter member of the Bald Knob United Pentecostal Church and was a faithful member for 53 years. Thelma retired from General Industries after working for 33 years. She loved flowers and spent hours working in her many flower beds. What most people considered hard work was a hobby that she absolutely loved. People would stop by to comment on how pretty her flowers were, several asked for bulbs or cuttings; she was always happy to share. She loved spending time with her daughters and their families especially her grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years – Edward Adell Martin. Sister – Gwyn Oakes, Brother-in-Laws – L.G. Oaks, Bill Martin, Elvin Martin. Sister-in-Laws – Pat Martin, Barbara Martin, Stepmother – Margie Crain. Left to cherish her memories include brothers – Jerry(Becky), Glen(Jenny), sisters – Donna, Edith, daughters – Sandra(Cliff), Linda(Rocky) Stephanie all of Bald Knob, Brenda(Joe) of Bossier City, Louisiana. Grandchildren – Carla(Jakie), Michael(Dina), Josh(Alicia), Jacqui(Jonathan), Cody, Chris(Haley). Great Grandchildren – Skyler(Annie), Whitney(Jesse) Cyndil(Deion), Bo Wayne, Xian, Liam, Paisley, Titus, Deacon, Waylon. Great Great Grandchildren – Tristian, Addilyn, Hynli, Tempe, Roux, Emelia. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Honoring Thelma as pallbearers will be Jakie Womack, Michael Woodard, Josh Woodard, Jonathan Tyer, Chris Martin, and Cody Martin. Honorary pallbearers are Cliff Woodard, Joe Woodard, and Rocky Wright. Visitation will be held on Saturday April 13, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Services will be conducted Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob with Bro. Danny Whitley and Bro. Wesley Wren officiating. Interment will follow in the Carter Cemetery. The family requests in celebration of her life attire for the funeral be spring colors. We would like to extend an extra special heartfelt thank you to Hayli, Crystal, Bri, and Tabatha from Gentiva Hospice for taking such good care of our mom during her last days. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob – Judsonia.
