Thomas L. "Tommy" Green

Thomas (Tommy) Lynn Green was born on July 3, 1948 in Batesville AR to Gerald and Wanda Green. He moved to Searcy with his family during his elementary school years and then graduated from Searcy High School in 1967. Tommy married his high school sweet heart Pamela Kay Vandiver and they began their life together and were married for 53 years. He began working for Gene Angel at Angels Food Market where he started developing his meat cutting skills. Tommy worked for Safeway, Harvest foods, and Kroger for approximately 35 years as a meat cutter. Pam and Tommy raised three children in Hot Springs AR before moving back to Searcy in 1996. Tommy loved fishing, hunting, and especially woodworking. He developed a special talent for designing things from wood and created a special Angel designed by his daughter Micah. He was an active member of First Baptist Church Searcy and enjoyed attending Sunday school. Tommy is survived by his sister Karen Baker and husband Aaron of Rose Bud Ar, wife Pamela Kay Green of Searcy Ar, two sons, Marcus Green and wife Tracey of Little Rock AR, Adam Green and wife Sherene of Searcy AR, and four grandchildren Ford Holden, Claire Holden, Spencer Green, and Chandler Green all of Searcy AR and 4 great-grandchildren who called him “Peeps”. Tommy took joy in spending time playing and acting silly with his grandkids and great grand kids. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Wanda Green and his only daughter Micah Lee Green (Holden). Thomas Lee Green passed away peacefully at home amongst his entire family on August 12th, 2022 after a long battle with Diabetes and Alzheimers. His legacy will forever be in the hearts and minds of his children and grandchildren and all that knew him. In lieu of flowers, a memorial could be made to First Baptist Church Searcy, Diabetes Foundation, or Alzheimer’s Association. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 15, 2022, at 2:00pm, at the First Baptist Church in Searcy. Visitation will precede the service; beginning at 1:00pm.
