Virginia Lee "Carter" Brawley

Virginia Brawley, age 89, passed from this life on September 9th, 2024. Born on September 10th, 1934 to Ervin “Dewey” Clyde & Eva Ellen Bradley of Bald knob, Arkansas. Virginia enjoyed working in her flower beds and gardening. She also loved watching her old western movies with her family, working in the house baking, & cooking the most delicious meal from scratch any chance she got. You wouldn’t leave her house hungry! Virginia also loved to go fishing & enjoying the outdoors as she drank her morning coffee. She was an individual who was always there when you needed her. As a mother, she was always concerned about the welfare of her children and loved all of them with all of her heart. Her grandchildren & great grandchildren were the light of her life as she beamed with overflowing pride when speaking of them. Always greeting her family & friends with the biggest hugs, laughter, & excitement when you came through the door. She loved the moments of creating precious memories with each of them, for each one was very special, including her nieces & nephews whom were very dear to her! Virginia was a member of Full Gospel Christian Center of Bradford, Arkansas and she retired from General Industries in Bald knob, Arkansas. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents “Clyde” & Eva Bradley, siblings Josephine Melton, Pauline Cullum, Anita Sue Scoggins, & Dewey Bradley as well as precious son, Ervin Carter and son-in-law Charles Thomas. She is survived by brother Winston (Judy) Bradley & sister Mary Ellen Sheffer. Loving children: The late Ervin & surviving spouse Gloria Carter of Kyle, Texas, the late Charles & surviving spouse Margaret Thomas of Mountain View, Arkansas, Eldon & Crystal Carter of Blytheville, Arkansas. Seven Grandchildren: Mariana Hansen, Roger Hansen, Regina Newman, Jeannie (Jayson) Cruz, Emili (Matthew) Spillman, Kaitlyn (Jason) Lawrence, & Allison Carter. Five Great Grandchildren: Angelina Newman, Avalynn Spillman, Declan Cruz, Judd & Ellie Lawrence. Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Shady Grove Cemetery pavilion in Bald Knob, Arkansas with Brother Marshall “Butch” Jones officiating. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are James Bradley, Dallion Sheffer, Doug Sheffer, Dallion Sheffer Jr., Eli Bradley, and Elijah Bradley. Serving as honorary pallbearer is Winston Bradley. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the Oakdale Nursing Facility, her home health aides, and Shirley Shin for the tender, special care given to Virginia.
