Carolyn Patricia Fergus Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Carolyn Patricia Fergus, 75, of Kensett, passed from this life on June 8, 2022 at her home, surrounded by much of her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 4, 1948, in Searcy, to the late Wilson and Elsie (Stephens) Arnold. Her dream was to become a hairdresser, and she accomplished her dream at 53 years old, and opened her own hair salon, Creations Hair Salon in Pangburn. The family is consoled during this time, knowing that she did not exit this life with struggle nor in pain. Fred, J, Amanda, Gary, and Shelia, along with every grandchild, great-gran and her caregiver Jolene Ballard was, or had been with her to love her through this difficult time. She is survived by her husband, Fred Fergus; daughter, Shelia Ann Seymore (Gary); son, Jerry D. (J.J.) Stephens, Jr. (Amanda); grandchildren, Christopher James Reynolds (Brittney), Nicholas Sean Reynolds (Catherine), Amber Nichole Showalter (Thomas), Patrick Lashawn Stephens (Hadassah), Maci Ann Stephens, Elizabeth Brooke Prince (Taylor), Joshua Ryan Seymore; great-grans, Kynleigh Nichole Reynolds, Caiden Hunter Seymore, Aubree Nichole Reynolds, Jaxon Prince, Reece Caroline Showalter, Thomas Fredrick Reynolds, Will Prince, Maycen Seymore, and George Bradley Reynolds, as well as a legacy of extended family and friends. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and thanks to Dr. John Holston, his nurse Jennifer, the pharmacist and staff at Searcy Medical Center Pharmacy, as well as Carolyn’s caregiver, Jolene Ballard. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Harold Arnold, and a sister, Louise (Arnold) Ellis. Mrs. Carolyn's heart was especially close to seeing that all children wanting to attend church camp was able to do so without financial stress. The family welcomes all family and friends to attend visitation and funeral services. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 from 6:00p.m. - 8:00p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the Roosevelt Missionary Baptist Church at 10:00a.m. Interment will follow in the Roosevelt Cemetery, where Carolyn will be laid to rest with the rest of her family.
