Gerald Joe Holden, SR.

August 22, 1937 - April 8, 2022

Gerald Holden, age 84 ( 8-22-1937 ) of Searcy ( Joy ), passed from life on April 8, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Janie Patterson Holden; five brothers, Max, Ray, Marshall, Floyd and Nelson; and three sisters, Molene, Opal and Verdie May. He is survived by three sons, Greg Holden of Rose Bud, Jerry Holden (Sharon) of Joy and Eric Holden of Joy; three grandchildren Travis Holden of Rose Bud, Tyler Holden of Rose Bud and Denver Holden of Little Rock; sisters, Betty Barker (Gerald) of Joy, Mary Watters of Searcy and several nieces and nephews; and his former wife Joanne Holden of Dallas, Texas. He worked for several years at Phelps Dodge in Bell Gardens, CA. He was self-employed since returning to Arkansas in 1979. Through the years his avid hobbies were basketball, softball, hunting, and fishing. He was proud of his Shriner membership. He graduated from Rosebud High School in 1958. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Searcy.
