Jackie Burge Huckaba

Jackie Burge Huckaba, 85, joined her heavenly family on October 24, 2020. Born on September 6, 1935 in Charlotte, AR, she grew up in Maple Springs. Jackie lived most of her life in the Oil Trough Area, married for 59 years to her loving husband, Gaylord Huckaba. Jackie found the greatest joy in her life by spending time with the people she loved, and the people she loved extended far beyond her family. Serving as a pastor’s wife, she spent countless hours caring for and planning activities for her church family. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune with her neighbors and enjoyed cooking weekly for all of them She enjoyed late nights of playing games with her family.It wasn’t unusual for her to be awake until wee hours of the morning competing with her children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren at board games and was often the most youthful member of the party. Jackie’s home was a home full of love, food and fun which was always open to all. She loved the magic of Christmas and created a special time of year for those around her. Her love for Christ could not be denied as her joyous spirit overflowed into all that were in her presence. Jackie is survived by daughters: Debra (Robert) Taylor of Smithville, AR; Niki (Dennis) Turnpaugh of Lamar, MS; Terri (Johnny) Raper of Blackland, AR; Judy Robben of Eureka, MO; and Honorary Daughter Sharon Pratt of Newark, AR. Grandchildren: Niki Dawn Robinson, Jeremy (Amy) Freeman, Kenneth Ruckus (Shanna) Davis, Michael (Brittany) Freeman, Bryan (Amy) Davis, Leslie (Keith) Jackson, Rachel Turnpaugh, 24 Great-Great Grandchildren and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren. . She is also survived by Ms. Zula Taylor, a loving friend she called Sister. Jackie is preceded in death by her Husband, Gaylord Huckaba; a Grandson, Phillip David Turnpaugh and a Granddaughter, Sidney Grace Davis. She is also preceded by Parents, Cecil and Christine Burge; 8 siblings and numerous Beloved Nieces and Nephews. In lieu of flowers, the Family requests that donations be made to your local food bank/pantry. Visitation is Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 1:00pm at the Blackland Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
