James McDonald “Jimmy” Reed, Jr., 53, of Bald Knob, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at his home. He was born October 21, 1968 in Jacksonville. Jimmy was a truck driver, a United States Navy veteran and an avid Arkansas Razorback fan. He enjoyed the outdoors and always commented that he felt closest to God when he was in nature. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of God where he loved attending. Jimmy formerly worked in children’s ministry at The River in Judsonia. He was a devoted Christian and deeply loved his church family. He is survived by his wife, LaDawn Reed; mother, Geraldine Reed; children, Lucas Reed, Trey Warden, Mitchell Warden, Nichole Martin, Courtney Herbine, Kjirsten Herbine and Ashley King; grandchildren, Lashae, Javon, Zariah, Ashton, Kayden, Dixie and Scarlett; nieces and nephews, Ashley Warden (Bill) and Jamie Franks; great-nieces and nephews, Gabe Warden, Lucas Franks, Madison Franks, Colby Warden, Jacklynn Warden and Katelyn Franks and his “hairy grandson”, Gizmo as well as numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James McDonald “Macky” Reed, Sr.; brother, Scott Reed and his sister, Gina Humes. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Majors officiating. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
