James "Jim" Pabst

James Walter “Jim” Pabst, 74, of Augusta, died Monday, November 23, 2020 in Searcy. He was born September 18, 1946 in Ohio a son of the late Robert and Ruby George Pabst. Jim was a well respected member of the Augusta community and a very civic minded person. He was an extremely hard worker and enjoyed helping with projects and events in the city. He was also very active in the Augusta First Baptist Church, where he was a long time member. He served in the National Guard for 12 years, was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting, however, time spent with his grandchildren was his favorite thing to do. Jim was a maintenance supervisor for the Sloan Valve Corporation and retired from there after more than 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Gay Pabst; 3 children, Lance Pabst (Helen-Ann), Jana Pabst and Jamey Pabst; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Kip Pabst and a sister, Barbara Schooley. A private family graveside will be held at the Augusta Memorial Park.
