Robert Lee "Bob" Wright Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert Lee “Bob” Wright, Jr., 78, of Judsonia, musician, poet, storyteller and family man, died Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at his home. Bob was born April 30, 1944 in Judsonia to the late Robert Lee and Gladys Auneen (Wilson) Wright. Bob was a long-time employee of GTE, retiring in 1993 but his real gift was in music and spinning a good tale. Bob carried his guitar everywhere he went so he wouldn’t miss an opportunity to join a jam session or just delight anyone who would listen. Since a guitar was first put in his hand as a young teen, Bob knew he had a special talent and taught himself how to play. For many years, his brother Wayne was his best music picking buddy and in his later years, would play all over the area with his best friend Eddie and his beloved Little Red River Band. While music was part of his soul, his family was his most prized possession. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 54 years, Phyllis Regina (Turner) Wright; 2 children, Robert Lee “Bobby” Wright, III (Rebekah) and Julie Munsell (Scott); siblings, JoAnn Key, Jerry Wright, Betty Stevens and Ricky Wright; 4 grandchildren, Ian Wright, Gavin Wright, Ryan Munsell and Brooklyn Munsell as well as a bonus son, Sid Davies (Betsy). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Wright. Visitation will be on Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Nokes officiating and Bobby Wright offering personal remarks.
