Irma Jean Sellers

Irma Jean Sellers, 90, of Judsonia, passed from this life on Thursday, June 27, 2024, just one day shy of the 12th anniversary of her husband’s passing, proving that true love never dies and her bond with him remained after many years. She was born September 1, 1933 in Judsonia a daughter of the late Allen and Minnie (Ball) Hopkins. Mrs. Sellers attended the Kensett Assembly of God for many years where she taught Sunday School. She received her Bachelors from Harding University and continued furthering her education throughout her life. An extremely hard worker, she was employed by First Federal Savings and Loan for numerous years where she served as a mortgage lender. She then served as a mortgage lender for First Security Bank in Searcy for 5 years. Before her retirement, at the age of 79, in 2012, she served as Chief Deputy in the White County Clerk’s office. Jean was always centered around her family. She enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mike Sellers (Linda) and Shane Sellers (Stephanie) all of Judsonia; brother, Herman Hopkins of Judsonia; grandchildren, Brittney Sellers-Hawkins of Bald Knob, Bethany Sellers-Trobaugh (Josh) of Searcy, Jacob Lively (Lynsey) of Greenbrier, Bayliee McClure (Aaron) of Judsonia and Gunner Sellers (Mallary) of Judsonia; great-grandchildren, Mika Hawkins (Michael Wingo) of Batesville, Mattie Hawkins (Zach Johnson) of Bald Knob, Brody Hawkins of Bald Knob, Bella Jelks of Searcy, Tripp Trobaugh of Searcy and Saylor Lively of Greenbrier; niece, Natalie Coker (Darrell) of Little Rock and a very special nephew, who she loved and cared for like a son, Bud Sellers of Judsonia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Bill Sellers, her father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Violet Sellers and sister-in-law, Montez Hopkins. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Ruddick officiating. Interment will follow in the White County Memorial Gardens.
