Jerry Wayne Hoofman

Jerry Wayne Hoofman, 80, received his eternal reward on April 11, 2025 in Little Rock, Arkansas, when he entered into the arms of the Lord. He was born November 30, 1944 in Judsonia, Arkansas to the late Virgil and Anna Jane Hoofman. He married the love of his life, Shirley Barker Hoofman, on April 3, 1964. They recently celebrated 61 wonderful years together. Jerry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. At a young age, he was called on by the Lord and was given a deep desire to serve him and his people. Jerry was a devoted Christian and served as Deacon and adult Sunday class teacher at Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Judsonia, Arkansas for 45 years. He later became a member of Park Ave Baptist Church in Searcy, Arkansas, where he was a current member. Jerry was particularly gifted with a passion for teaching which inspired young minds to seek the Lord. Through his ministry he was able to teach the word of God to countless children. Jerry was a master craftsman in woodworking and contracting. He enjoyed creating works of art such as model cars, boats, and furniture. During his career as a contractor, he built houses including his daughter’s home. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jerry was able to share his love of the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. They often helped him in his garden, killed many deer with him, and went fishing any time they could. Jerry will be greatly missed, however, the lessons and memories he left behind will never be forgotten. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Hoofman of the home, his daughter, Sheila Hoofman-Daniel of Judsonia, his son, Jeffery Hoofman of Judsonia, two grandchildren, Alania Spiker of Bald Knob and Haley Johannes (Anthony) of Judsonia, six great grandchildren, Cassius of Bald Knob, Rhiannon, Lillian, Allison, and Madelynn all of Judsonia, and baby Samuel on the way, two brothers, Ray Hoofman (Rosemary) of Judsonia and Donnie Hoofman (Fern) of Searcy. He is also survived by a host of extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Randy Hoofman and Larry Hoofman. Memorial services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob, Arkansas with a memorial visitation prior to services, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob-Judsonia.
