Mary Frances Spurlock

Mary Frances McAdams Spurlock, 82, of Judsonia died November 15, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. She was born August 31, 1940 in Judsonia, Arkansas the youngest daughter of the late Paul and Orceila (Byard) McAdams. Mary worked in the family business, Spurlock Inc., until retirement due to health problems in 2004. She was always active in the community from the years of having children in school, where she served on many committees and held offices in multiple organizations. She served many years on the Ouachita Girl Scout council board was a lifetime member of Girl Scouts of the USA. She was inducted into the Girl Scout Hall of Fame. She served many years as a local Girl Scout troop leader touching the lives of many girls along the way. Mary served faithfully as the Secretary/Treasurer on the Evergreen Cemetery Board and spent many hours updating and organizing data for the White County Historical Society to place on their website. She also served as Secretary for the City of Judsonia Water Board. Mary was a very active member of the Judsonia Church of Christ and was always very involved in the planning and organizing of the Judsonia High School reunions. Left to cherish her memory are two children, Mitchell Spurlock (Cheryl) of Judsonia and Paula Benton (Tony) of Searcy, a sister, Wilda Gibson, grandchildren, Tara Wallace (Eric), Wesley Benton (Ashton), Samantha Mercer (Tyler), Palmer Spurlock, and a step grandson, Eric Camp (Melissa), Great grandchildren, Kambrie and Kelbi Wallace, Ellie and Averie Benton, Amory Mercer, and step great grandson, Braylen Camp and a host of other family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jewel B. Spurlock with whom she shared 62 years of wonderful blessings. Sisters, Irma Neal Cothran, Mary Pauline Hardcastle, and a brother, Kenneth McAdams. Services will be conducted on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Judsonia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Evergreen Cemetery in Judsonia.
