Robert Donald McInturff, A Life Well-Lived Robert Donald McInturff, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, friend, and son of the Most High God, stepped out of his broken body and into the arms of King Jesus on Sunday, April 1, 2018. We, his family, knew him by many names: Sweetie, Daddy, Gbob, Uncle Bob, Bobby Don, Pet Lamb Boy. Others knew him by more than a name. They knew him by his deeds. His life of service to those around him has remained his legacy, and his gentleness and faithfulness have been evident to all throughout his life. He knew his purpose as a husband and father, and he lived every day as a masculine protector and provider for his Annie. He lived by the value of under-promising and over-delivering, and he always displayed his generosity through self-denial, self-sacrifice, and service, especially in the overlooked and seemingly insignificant things of life. He encouraged without criticism, listened without judgment, loved without expectation, and gave without strings. Perseverance was his mantra. He evidenced his favorite saying to “never, never, never give up” as he graduated from college at age fifty-six, and his fierce loyalty to the University of Alabama was birthed from this hard work and perseverance. This dogged, fighting spirit kept him strong in the last six years as he refused to allow debilitating illness to change him. He remained unselfish, others-focused, and good-humored to the end. The hope of Heaven was sealed in his heart through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ on the Cross. He was met in the moment of physical death by death no more, and his sons Jason and Shane have been reunited with their earthly father, where neither sorrow nor disease can ever touch them again. Blessed are all those who were loved by this man! Because of who he was, his integrous life and actions, he carved out an easy path for others to view God as a Heavenly Father who is good, faithful, loving, and ever-present. He is survived by his wife, Anne Boren McInturff; two daughters, Leah McInturff Davis and husband Gene, Tamra McInturff Woodruff and husband Glen; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda McInturff Hart, Doris McInturff Wheeler and husband Pete; and two sisters-in-love, Donna Boren Sanford and husband John and Angie Boren Hubbard and husband Mike. We, his family, are convinced the heavenly tide is rollin’ as the saints welcome home a life well-lived! The family will hold a Celebration of Life at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3 at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 1700 Napa Valley Drive, Little Rock AR 72212 and will receive friends starting at 4:00 p.m. A visitation will held from 12:00-1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4 at the Powell Funeral Home in Searcy with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the White County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
