Rosa Lee O'Shields

Rosa Lee O’Shields, 84, of Augusta, Arkansas departed this life on March 25, 2025 at 5:35 p.m. She left this world in the arms of her children as they gathered around her bedside at Unity Health in Searcy, AR, following a long battle with cancer. She was born July 21, 1940 in Texas City, Texas to the late Clarance Dannar and Etta Eva Hattenbach Dannar. Rosa held many occupations, was a Jill of all trades and could do most anything that a man could do. She was a sudoku and crossword champ. She passed a lot of that on to her children. Rosa was a caretaker of so many and was such a nurturing soul. She was loved by all; even the hospital staff fell in love with her and catered to her and cared for her in such a loving manner the last 4 weeks of her life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those that knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Billy O'Shields, her daughter, Rhonda Stuart, her son, John O'Shields II, her grandchildren, Scott Jakob Watkins and Elizabeth Anne Barton, her brothers, Earl Dannar and Wilburn Dannar, and her sisters, Louetta Ogassian, Lily Heard, Dorothy Alston, Mary Ann Wooley, and Barbara Gist. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sherry Rodriguez (Paul) of Russellville, AR Lois Barton (Rick) of Dardanelle, AR, Lisa Nance of Augusta, AR, Michael Dannar of Blytheville, AR, and John Richard O 'Shields of Little Rock, AR, 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and her sister, Gale Piel of Temple, TX. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home of Woodruff County in Augusta, Arkansas. Family and friends are invited to visit before services beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow services in White Lake Cemetery near Tupelo, Arkansas. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are William Baker, Randy Wooten, Chris Cansler, Gabriel Tiner, Alec Tiner, and Brian Barton. Honorary pallbearers are Adam Rodriguez and Devin Sandlin. Arrangements are entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Woodruff County. Donations can be made to White Lake Cemetery upkeep fund at Riverwind Bank in Augusta, Arkansas.
