Sharon Kay (Sammons) Isham

Sharon Kay Isham, 81, of Searcy, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on February 5, 2026. She was born on March 31, 1944, in Searcy to the late Myrl and Bera (Thomason) Sammons. Sharon is survived by her two sons, Rick Isham (Dayna) and Kevin Isham (Cherie), who she loved like a daughter, all of Searcy. She was a proud grandmother to Cody Isham (Jingles) of Judsonia, Morgan Isham of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Taylor Powell (Dustin) of Searcy, and Chase Hunton (Hannah) of Little Rock. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Haiden, Dani, Cooper, and Miles Isham. To each of her grandchildren, she was lovingly known simply as “Grandma,” a name she treasured most of all. Sharon is further survived by her brother, Pat Sammons (Rita) of Bald Knob, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by the father of her sons, Louie “Pete” Isham, and by her parents. Sharon was a faithful member of First Assembly of God Church of Searcy, where she lovingly served in the church choir for many years. Her faith was an important part of her daily life and was evident in the kindness she showed to everyone she met. She was also known for her warm, contagious laughter that could brighten a room and put others at ease. She and several of her close friends often traveled together to attend church services, conventions, and other church gatherings, enjoying both fellowship and worship along the way. She retired from Eaton Corporation after many years of dedicated service. Following retirement, she felt called to continue serving others and worked with the White County Area Agency on Aging, helping those who could no longer care for themselves. Even as her own health declined, Sharon continued to show compassion and encouragement to those around her. While residing in assisted living, she remained a source of comfort to others. The staff at StoneBridge Senior Living in Cabot affectionately referred to her as their “Bright Light,” a reflection of her sweet smile and caring heart. Sharon was an avid reader and never met a book she didn’t enjoy, but her favorite book was always the Bible. She kept it close, read it often, and believed wholeheartedly in the promise of eternal life found within its pages. One of her favorite verses was Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” One of her most beloved hymns was “How Great Thou Art,” a song that reflected the faith and worship that filled her life. There is no doubt that when Sharon took her final breath on earth, she took her first breath in heaven. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at First Assembly of God, 101 Benton Street, in Searcy. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sidon Cemetery on Highway 310, west of the Sidon community. In honor of Sharon’s favorite colors, those attending are invited to wear shades of pink, yellow, or blue. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of StoneBridge Senior Living of Cabot and Providence Assisted Living for the love, care, and compassion shown to Sharon during her final days.
