Winston Howard King

Winston Howard King, 80, of Pangburn entered his heavenly home on November 4, 2022. He was born to the late Howard and Elvie King of Roosevelt on February 9, 1942. Winston married the love of his life, Linda Jean King on January 13, 1968. They shared 55 wonderful years building an amazing life together on their farm. After 15 years of married, they received their greatest blessing; their daughter, Kelly Jean. Years later, he became "Pa" to 4 grandchildren; the joys of his life. Winston was known for his love for the Lord , his wife, and his family. He served 6 years in the Arkansas National Guard and worked for 31 years at Sperry/Vickers. After retiring from there, he was a jack of all trades, from selling real estate, to paving driveways, driving big trucks, to selling anything. He loved going to farm sales and socializing for hours. He always said, "anything is for sale but the wife and the farm" as long as he could make his 2%. You could always find him working on the farm with his wife, also known as "Nonna", or better yet at a ball game watching one of their favorites play ball. He was the greatest Pa to so many kids. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. Winston lived a long, blessed life and would always say, "I'm doing better than when I wasn't doing so good". We know he loved the Lord and is in his eternal home in Heaven. Left to cherish his memory; his wife, Linda; daughter, Kelly Jean (Michael) Berry; their 4 grandchildren, Jasmine (Trae) Holden, Katelyn, Kamryn, and Jacob Baughman of Pangburn, and their dad Jason Baughman of Pangburn; sister, Cathleen Pratt (Clenis) of Pleasant Plains; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Winston was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Headstream; brother, Roger King; and two angel grandbabies and other loved ones along the way. Winston will be dearly missed. We have peace in knowing he is pain free and rejoicing with the Lord and loved ones who have gone before him. We are not saying goodbye, for it's only see you later. We will meet you by the river. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 10:00am at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Roosevelt Cemetery.
