Powell Funeral Home is the only locally and family owned funeral home in Bald Knob and Searcy.

The Powell family came to White County in 1960, purchasing the funeral home in Bald Knob, later purchasing Kinney Funeral Home in Judsonia and the funeral home in Augusta. In the early 1980's Mr. Powell built the current location of our Bald Knob-Judsonia funeral home and combined the two locations to better serve both communities. As the Powell family wanted to better serve the families of White County, they saw the need to expand their services into Searcy. In March 2000, they did just that with the opening of their Searcy location.

Powell Funeral Homes proudly remain independent and locally owned. The Powell family and staff believe that we are accountable to you, not an out-of-town board of directors. We believe that our most valuable possesion is our reputation. We are kind, gentle, and knowledgeable men and women who respect your right to choose without pressure or undue influence. Every staff associate is expected and empowered to do anything it takes to serve your family well. Our fair prices represent the greatest value in the area. Our facilities are modern and immaculate. If you are dissatisfied with any of our professional services or facilities, we will reduce or eliminate that charge.

We encourage you to speak openly about any financial hardship you are experiencing. We take pride in serving all who call our firm-including those with financial difficulties. We work closely with county department of social services, victim's and worker's compensation departments, and other potential sources of funding. We can make suggestions to keep your costs low. Still, we understand that there are those who need a payment plan or a cost reduction in order for their need to be met, and we are here to help. No one has ever been turned down for lack of money. Regardless of what you spend, our superior service quality is the same for all.

The Powell Family is still active in the day to day operation of both locations with David Powell, Jr. and his daughter, Tammy Powell - Bennett working each day.
