Powell Funeral Home is the only locally and family owned funeral home in Bald Knob and Searcy.

The Powell family came to White County in 1960 and purchased the funeral home in Bald Knob, which had been in continuous operation since the 1880's. A short time later, Mr. Bob acquired Kinney Funeral Home in nearby Judsonia and the funeral home in Augusta. In the early 1980's, Mr. Powell decide area families could be better served by a larger more modern facility so he built the current location and combined both the Bald Knob and Judsonia businesses. Having the deep desire to serve others, the Powell family saw the need to expand their services into Searcy and in March 2000 our Searcy location was opened. Since 1960, thousands of area families have placed their trust in the men and woman of the Powell Funeral Homes.

Powell Funeral Homes proudly remain independent and locally owned. The Powell family and staff believe that we are accountable to you, not an out-of-town board of directors. We believe that our most valuable possession is our reputation. We are kind, gentle, and knowledgeable men and women who respect your right to choose without pressure or undue influence. Every staff associate is expected and empowered to do anything it takes to serve your family well. Our fair prices represent the greatest value in the area. Our facilities are the most spacious and well designed funeral homes in our area. We are able to serve any need, accommodate any size gathering and tailor services to fit your financial resources. Our staff has more years of combined experience than any funeral establishment in this area.

Choosing a funeral home is a very big decision and many things should be considered. Obviously trust in the funeral firm is paramount. We feel our profession is based on relationships and the many friendships we have developed with families over the years. Our family is deep rooted in White and surrounding counties. We have raised and educated our children here, worshiped here, volunteered here and will always be committed to the people here. While funeral service has changed through the years with more families choosing more personalized services, cremation and lower cost options, Powell Funeral Homes commitment of caring has not, and will not ever change. We have the ability and knowledge to better serve families than anyone in White County.

The Powell Family is still active in the day to day operation of both locations with Owner, David Powell, Jr. and his daughter, Tammy Powell - Bennett working each day.

Our knowledgeable staff includes Tyler Hyatt, licensed funeral director/embalmer and manager of Powell Funeral Home - Bald Knob-Judsonia; Barry Gladden, licensed funeral director/embalmer and manager of Powell Funeral Home - Searcy; Ciley Castillo, licensed funeral director and embalmer; Dale Bonner, licensed funeral director; Amanda Burns, licensed funeral director and apprentice embalmer; Gene Martin, part-time licensed funeral director and visitation host; Jim Newman and Terry Staggs, funeral assistants and visitation hosts; Danny Holobaugh, funeral assistant; Brenda Basinger, Bald Knob office manager.
